The truth of the matter is, I knew nothing about Reiki before I became involved with it. However, it seemed Reiki wanted to know me. It would come up in conversations, on the internet, and at the workplace. I had changed jobs and was more than a little apprehensive about this new path I’d been placed on, but as it turned out, the first person I became connected to (and established a dear friendship with), was a Reiki healer. I had known her for two years before this fact became known to me. I truly believe the universe was at work, bringing me closer to the discovery of Reiki in myself.
The little I quickly learned about Reiki resonated with my understanding of the world. I’ve always known myself well, and because of this, wasted no time. Avoiding any outside influence on my respect for the practice, or the decision to pursue it further, I simply signed up for Reiki 1 & 2 classes with Carolyn Musial in 2009. The rest is, as they say, history. In 2010, I went on to receive my Master Attunement from Carolyn through the International Center For Reiki Training.
The practice of Reiki has become a part of my daily life. Though in all honesty, I would have to say that Reiki was always a part of my life, and has made me the person I have always been. The knowledge I have gained through my practice has opened my eyes to many things, allowing the world around me to make more sense and be viewed with a new and powerful clarity.
